1SG Dewey Alester Williams Jr.
First Sergeant Dewey Alester Williams Jr enlisted into the United States Army as an Infantry man in 1997.
Once he enlisted in the Army he then graduated basic training and AIT from Aco. 1-19 in Fort Benning Georgia.
His first duty assignment was in Fort Hood Texas as a SAW Gunner in Delta Company 1-5 Cav. In 1998 he deployed for 6 months to Camp Dobol in Bosnia Herzegovina. In 1999 he was assigned to the Support Platoon for the Head Quarters Company 1-5 Cav as a Heavy Wheel Operator until 2002. First Sergeant Williams then reclassed to the MOS of 68J and had the opportunity to have his first overseas duty assignment as a 68J at Camp Carroll Korea where he served as the NCOIC of Customer Service from 2002- 2003 with Alpha Company 16th Medical Logistic Battalion. Once again he returned to Fort Benning Georgia to the 14th Field Hospital/14th Combat Support Hospital in 2003 where he served as a Medical Supply Sergeant until 2005. His second overseas assignment was to Belgium at the SHAPE Health Facility from 2005-2008 as the NCOIC of Logistics. In 2008 First Sergeant Williams was selected as a Drill Sergeant and was assigned to Fort Knox Kentucky, Charlie Company 1-46 until 2011. His third overseas assignment was to Meisau Germany with the 8th Medical Logistic Company as the Training room NCO/ Warehouse NCOIC from 2011-2013. In February 2013 he had his second deployment to Bagram Afghanistan with the 8th MLC as the NCOIC of the Warehouse until November 2013. First Sergeant Williams continued his tour in Germany in Bahmholder, with the 421st Multifunctional Medical Battalion as the S-4 NCO of Medical Logistics from February 2014 - June 2014. He was assigned to Joint Base San Antonio where he worked as the NCOIC of Supply Chain Management Branch and the NCOIC of Logistics Division at Brooke Army Medical Center from August 2014 – June 2017. First Sergeant Williams currently is the 1SG of the 563rd Medical Logistics Company in Camp Carroll Korea.
First Sergeant Williams has completed Warrior Leader Course, Army Equal Opportunity Course, Army Retention Course, Manager Defense Course, Total Army Instructors Training Course, Unit Prevention Leaders Course, Medical Information Management Course, Area CBNRE Offensive and Defensive Course, Advance Leaders Course, Drill Sergeants School, Combatives Level 1, Senior Leaders Course, and the Hospital Logistics Course.
In 2001 First Sergeant Williams completed his civilian education by earning a Bachelor degree from University of Maryland in Business Administration.
During his military career he has earned many Awards and Decorations to include; the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4), Army Achievement Medal (6), Army Good Conduct Medal (7), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghan Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (5), North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal (2), Certificate of Achievement (3), Drill Sergeant’s Badge, Combat Action Badge, and Drivers Badge.
