Sergeant Major Danyell Elaine Walters


SGM Danyell Elaine Walters joined the United States Army as a Military Police (MP) Officer in February 1993 through Montgomery, AL, Military Entrance Processing Station. She attended Basic Training and Advance Individual Training at Ft. McClellan, Alabama. In 1998, she reenlisted to become a Medical Logistics Specialist (68J) and completed Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. She currently serves as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the United States Army Medical Materiel Center-Korea.

Her assignments as a Military Police Officer include the following: Physical Security, 502nd Military Intelligence Battalion, Ft. Lewis, WA; Assistant Tomb Relief Guard Commander, 289th MP Co, 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), Ft. Myer, VA, where she became the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier’s 439th Tomb Guard Identification Badge recipient. Her subsequent assignments as a Medical Logistician include: Stock Item Control Supervisor and Customer Support Representative, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC; Platoon Sergeant, C Co, 302nd Forward Support Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea; Medical Materiel Manager, 6th Medical Logistics Management Center (Detachment), 44th Medical Brigade, Ft. Her military education includes multiple operational, functional and all required levels of Noncommissioned Officer Education System schools. She holds a Master of Science in Management, with a concentration in Human Resources, Excelsior College; a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, with a concentration in Homeland Security, Troy University; and an Associate of Science, with a concentration in General Studies, Northern Virginia Community College. She was also awarded the Army Demonstrated Logistics Program designation of Demonstrated Master Logistician, from SOLE - The International Society of Logistics and honorary member of the Sigma Beta Delta honor society for superior academic achievements.

Her awards and decorations include the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Bronze Star Service Medal with an oak leaf cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with a silver oak leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal eighth award, National Defense Service Medal with one bronze star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with three bronze stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal with two bronze stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Arabic numeral 3 device, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with Arabic numeral 5 device, and twice awarded the ISAF NATO Non-Article 5 Medal. She also earned the German Army Marksmanship Schutzenschur Badge (Gold) and Driver and Mechanic Badge with wheel device.
